October 22 is forever known as P-22 Day, by official declaration of the City of LA! That's right, Los Angeles recognizes the importance of its resident cougars.

We had a wonderful time at the 2018 P-22 Day Festival! It was so encouraging to see so many
young faces there that wanted to learn more about coexisting with mountain lions and other wildlife.
We would like to express our sincerest gratitude to everyone who stopped by our booth to say hi, learn more about mountain lions, and to write thank you letters to our wildlife officers. We were inspired by everyone's passion and concern for the safety and well-being of our wildlife. It truly takes a community to make coexistence possible.
Also, thank you to Beth Pratt, the National Wildlife Federation, and many other organizations for coming together to make this such a memorable and meaningful event. We're looking forward to seeing everyone again in 2019!
The Mountain Lion Foundation will, of course, be there to join in the celebration! We will be building and demonstrating a mountain-lion proof livestock enclosure. Stop by and check it out. We would love to see you!
Mark your calendars and come celebrate P-22's special day during the third annual festival in Griffith Park. It's free and open to the public.
The P-22 Day Festival is part of Urban Wildlife Week, October 21-27, a series of events across the Santa Monica Mountains and the Los Angeles area including a 50-mile hike lead by National Wildlife Federation's California Director, Beth Pratt-Bergstrom, and many partners. They will walk through the Santa Monica Mountains and Los Angeles, taking a similar path to the one that P-22 may have followed.
