Ghostwalker: Meet the Author

We want to sincerely thank everyone who came out to make this a memorable event. Thank you!

WHEN:
Saturday, January 19, 2019
2PM to 3PM

WHERE:
Copperfield's Books
999 Grant Ave, Novato, CA 94945

We are grateful to everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to stop by for Leslie Patten's presentation on her book: Ghostwalker: Tracking a Mountain Lion's Soul Through Science and Story. We had quite the turnout and were thrilled to have the opportunity to talk to many wonderful people about America's lion.

We highly recommend taking the time to read Ghostwalker. The book is well-written and informative. You'll have a hard time putting it down!

Original Post:

What is the essence of a mountain lion? Ghostwalker: Tracking a Mountain Lion's Soul Through Science and Story attempts to answer this very question. To understand an animal no one ever sees, author Leslie Patten conducted over fifty interviews with biologists, conservation groups, state wildlife managers, houndsmen and professional trackers.

Using video and photo footage along with readings from the book, Patten will discuss mountain lion signs on the landscape, how Yellowstone National Park is using fit-bit collars on cougars pioneered at UC Santa Cruz, and how these elusive animals use our urban/woodland corridors.

At this presentation, Ms. Patten will talk about her book and what she learned along the way. After her talk, Lynn Cullens, Executive Director of the Mountain Lion Foundation, will talk about the organization and some of the work it is doing to protect America's lion.

See you there!
