In cooperation with Anza-Borrego Desert Natural History Association, long time Mountain Lion Foundation field volunteer, Robin Parks will present cougar biology and general safety tips, and address the myths and misinformation that surround cougars. He’ll talk about California laws pertaining to cougars, California Department of Fish and Wildlife policies, and the ways that residents can protect pets and livestock. He will also discuss the considerations that law enforcement personnel are often faced with, showing that killing a wayward cougar simply because it has wandered into human territory is rarely necessary and is often the wrong decision.
